Employee Communications Support Around Merger
Last December saw the merger of NXP and Freescale officially completed, making the New NXP the 4th largest semiconductor company worldwide.
The process of readying the two companies for integration was a significant task, especially for the communication teams involved, and Centigrade was delighted to be involved in supporting.
During the months up until the merger was complete, internal communications was especially critical. With a lot of uncertainty for employees and stakeholders, ongoing changes and regulatory and compliance issues, sensitivity and timing were crucial.
Centigrade supported with the design and production of regular communication materials helping ensure that communication was done accurately, timely and of course stylishly.
As well as ongoing internal communications around the status of the merger process, there were also preparations for the first day of the New NXP ensuring that the key processes and channels were clear to all. We designed and set up a number of templates for consistent communications and prepared key Questions and Answers documents to ensure that everyone was properly informed as soon as the merger was complete.
Once the merger was finalised there were local celebrations planned across all of NXP’s, now more than 100, locations. As part of this Centigrade prepared a series of 35 different posters featuring facts about the newly combined company. Made in 10 languages including, Chinese, Korean and Malay – 700 separate items in total, these Fast Fact posters were supplied to all locations for local implementation.
We also produced a feature book, The World with NXP which features a look at the people that make the company, the vision of its leaders, and its important role in the wider—and smarter—world of today.
Centigrade also assisted with material for the local events in the Netherlands, producing polo-shirts and caps for the coordination teams, and ensuring that posters and printed material were available on time.
