Centigrade Represents Multiple Clients at Iconic Automotive Event
Centigrade was back in Amelia Island, Florida this year supporting several clients at the annual Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. This world-class automotive event, which takes place at The Ritz-Carlton, attracts automotive enthusiasts and historic vehicle collectors from all over the globe.
Centigrade provided PR and marketing support for a number of clients including: Alfa Romeo, Breitling, Hagerty, the Historic Vehicle Association and Lamborghini.
For the first-time ever at Amelia Island, Alfa Romeo celebrated its return to North American roads. By visiting the Alfa Romeo display on the Concours show field, guests were able to relive the legendary history of Alfa Romeo, discover the all-new 4C models, and celebrate over 100 years of technology, performance and Italian style. Alfa Romeo also hosted 4C test drives in front of The Ritz-Carlton.
Breitling, the official watch of the Concours, had a retail display inside The Ritz-Carlton on Friday and Saturday. The Breitling Cocktail Reception took place on Saturday evening to kick off the Gala dinner. On Sunday, Breitling showcased their popular Breitling for Bentley Collection on the Concours field and presented the Supersports Lightweight Special Edition piece as the automotive award for timeless beauty.
Centigrade provided public relations support and media outreach for Hagerty. On Saturday, media were invited to participate in the inaugural “Classics on the Coast” – a spirited drive from the island to downtown Fernandina Beach – in some of the coolest classics available. Historic vehicles included a 1941 Packard 180 Formal Sedan, 1950 Chrysler Town & Country, Porsche 356 convertible and a 1958 Bocar roadster. Hagerty dawn patrol took place at sunrise on Sunday and Hagerty also had a display on the show field featuring the Bocar.
During Sunday’s Concours, Mark Gessler, President of HVA, presented Dennis Nicotra, owner of the 1954 Mercedes-Benz Type 300 SL 198 040 4500003, with HVA’s “This Car Matters Award”. This Mercedes-Benz 300 SL was the first Mercedes-Benz Type 300 SL sold in America and will be recorded under the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Heritage Documentation. The documentation will be part of the HVA’s National Historic Vehicle Register and the Historic American Engineering Record (HAER) that is permanently archived in the U.S. Library of Congress.
Centigrade managed all aspects of the public relations campaign for Automobili Lamborghini during the Concours. In addition, the Centigrade team planned and activated a drive program for VIP guests and prospects in the Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster and the Huracán LP 610-4.
Making its North America debut at this year’s Amelia Island Concours, the Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce. Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, unveiled this new addition to the brand, with its intensely sporting imprint on Saturday evening at The Ritz-Carlton. Guests at the Concours were also able to enjoy a display of other Aventador and Huracán models on the show field.
